Just a Great Day Fishin'

Porter and Matt recently spent a great day together at a local fishing hole! It was so much fun to hang out and wait for some fish to bite. Check out the brim Porter caught! On his 'Nemo' pole none the less!

I love this picture because it reminds me of a story that my brother, David, shared with me recently at a family Sunday dinner. He was telling us that Pres. John Adams and his son Pres. John Quincy Adams always wrote in a diary at night. One entry was about taking his son fishing. The father felt that the day spent fishing was a complete waste of his time and wrote just that in his nightly entry. The son also wrote in his diary of the experience. He had a totally different take of the day. He wrote that the day spent fishing with his father was the best time of his life. For years, in his diary, he referred back to that day as the greatest day!
As you can see from these pictures, Porter and Matt are not at a fancy fishing resort. They are simply out on the draught stricken banks and having a great day, just spending time together! Oh, how I love my guys!!!
Here is Porter reeling in his catch with all his strength! It must be a whopper of a fish!

What a beauty of a brim! The best part was letting him back into the water to grow some more!

Monkey Baby Returns

Dixon is constantly on the move. Here are some cute pictures on my Monkey Baby in action. FYI, I was still on crutches and could not get him down so, I just opted to photograph the moment instead.

As you can tell, Dixon completely and rapidly recovered from his surgery (tubes in his ears). He was only down for about 30minutes then he was back to his happy self. He has also cut 2 top teeth in addition to his 2 bottom teeth. More are on their way too!

Thanks, Nanny!

Well, I have survived arthroscopic surgery! It has been a long week but thanks to the never ending help from Nanny, we have all made it through! I was on crutches until Friday. Anyone thinking that it looks fun to use crutches should consult with me prior to needing them. It is not any fun. It is amazing how often you need your hands and yet you have no option but to use them to move yourself. URGH!!! It is impossible to be on crutches and tend to babies by yourself....thus, THANKS, NANNY!!! I really should also thank Papa for loaning Nanny to my family....again.

I am doing some physical therapy and hope to have full, pain-free movement soon!
